Fishes, dogs and other proverbs

In the following lines you will find three famous Italian proverbs and their literal translation in English. Can you work out what the matching English proverb is? Check out the comments for an answer.

(1) Chi dorme non piglia pesci
|The one who sleeps won't catch fish|

(2) Chi va con lo zoppo, impara a zoppicare
|the one who goes with the lame, learns to limp|

(3) Non svegliare il can che dorme
|Do not wake up a sleeping dog|
